The project involves the development of a new “Γ”-shaped office complex, complete with two basement levels, on a spacious plot spanning 9,066.86 sq.m. Situated in the Municipality of Marousi, the site is bounded by Distomou St., Alamanas St., Kifisias Avenue, and Attiki Odos highway. The bioclimatic design in the above-ground spaces of the building will ensure thermal and visual comfort conditions to reduce conventional energy consumption and the project is to be LEED Gold certified. In addition to the office buildings and parking areas, technical and auxiliary areas will be added: a multi-purpose room for an auditorium capable of accommodating 200 people for various events, a library covering at least 180 square meters, and a gym.
DIMAND’s involvement in the project is via Di TERNA, which has been delegated to implement the project as a multi purpose project. Construction commenced on Tuesday morning, May 14th, in the presence of key stakeholders, including DIMAND’s CEO Dimitris Andriopoulos, Technical Champer’s President Giorgos Stassinos, and representatives from GEK TERNA, such as Giorgos Perdikaris and Petros Souretis.
Project executives viewed this as a historic day for the Technical Chamber, since it coincided with the Chamber’s centennial anniversary. Dimitris Andriopoulos, CEO of DIMAND SA and DI TERNA Special Purpose Company, said: “Today is a historic day for TEE. After many years, the exploitation of this unique property of his, in the so-called “Ring of Kifissias Avenue”, a very symbolic and important point for Athens, opposite the central building of OTE, begins. I think that TEE using this property gives a very positive message, in the context of the wider utilization of public property. So here with the method of consideration and after a public tender, the new TEE Building will be built, which will be about 4,000 square meters and another building of about 7,500 square meters, plus the underground spaces. The Medical Center together with TERNA and DIMAND are the investors in this bioclimatic project which will receive LEED certification because, in addition to ESG and the various announcements, we must also be substantial in what we call green development and use of all of the materials, which will have sustainability in the future. The environment and protection from natural disasters is one of the concepts of TEE and we will all contribute in this direction.”
Giorgos Stasinos, President of the Technical Chamber of Greece, said: “Today we started an important project for the Chamber, the owner of the specific property which has been trying to handle since the 70s. We are starting to build two green bioclimatic buildings, which we believe will become a landmark for the area, in collaboration with the contractors, TERNA and DIMAND. It is predicted that in two years this important project will be completed, with the two buildings, which will have to offer mainly to the engineers but also to the local community and the wider area. We are starting the construction work today and will make a model building. It is a happy moment that we managed, on the 100th anniversary of TEE, to start the work on the new building of the Technical Chamber on the privately owned plot on Kifisias Avenue, at its junction with Attiki Odos”.
The new Technical Chamber of Greece building in Maroussi, is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
