On 2 July, DIMAND and Hilton announced the signing of an agreement for Hilton Thessaloniki, the first Hilton hotel in Thessaloniki, during a joint press conference held at MOMus – Museum of Photography Thessaloniki.

Τhe agreement and its significance for the future development of Thessaloniki were presented by Dimitris Andriopoulos, CEO of DIMAND, Andreas Koukas, Senior Director Development, Greece & Cyprus, Hilton, Alan Mantin, Vice President Development, Southern Europe, Hilton, and Nikos Trikourakis, Head of Hospitality at DIMAND.

The new hotel complex will be developed on the historic site of the former FIX Brewery, at the western gateway to Thessaloniki, marking a significant milestone in the landmark mixed-use regeneration project being delivered by DIMAND. The hotel will be operated by Hilton under a Management Agreement with DIMAND, while the overall masterplan for the redevelopment has been designed by the internationally renowned architectural practice Foster + Partners.

The agreement further strengthens Hilton’s presence in Greece, where the Group currently has a portfolio of 71 hotels, with 50 already in operation and the remainder under development, highlighting the strategic importance of the Greek market to its continued growth.

Hilton Thessaloniki at the former FIX Brewery site will comprise an internationally branded hotel complex with a total of 184 guest rooms, developed across two buildings. The new sustainable building will feature 153 guest rooms and suites, while one of the three preserved buildings of the former brewery will be carefully restored and repurposed to accommodate an additional 31 guest rooms and suites, celebrating the site’s unique industrial heritage and historical character.

The main hotel, spanning approximately 11,250 sq.m. across seven floors, has been designed as a contemporary bioclimatic building, offering the signature hospitality experience of Hilton Hotels & Resorts. It will feature modern public areas, two restaurants, two bars, wellness and fitness facilities, as well as conference and event spaces. A rooftop swimming pool overlooking the city and the Thermaic Gulf will provide a distinctive destination for both guests and visitors. The building is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification, while its architectural design has been developed by Foster + Partners.

The preserved building, with a total area of approximately 7,000 sq.m., will be carefully restored, respecting its unique architectural and industrial heritage while seamlessly integrating its historic features into a contemporary hospitality destination. It will accommodate 31 guest rooms and suites, together with wellness facilities including a spa and hammam, food and beverage venues, a microbrewery, and conference facilities. The architectural design has been prepared by Georges Batzios Architects.

Hilton Thessaloniki forms part of the wider regeneration of the historic former FIX Brewery complex, a mixed-use development that will combine hospitality, residential, retail, cultural and public spaces, creating a vibrant new urban destination at the western gateway to Thessaloniki.
