Presentation of the Masterplan for the redevelopment of the historic FIX brewery, signed by Foster + Partners.

With major success, the official presentation of the FIX Masterplan by DIMAND and the internationally acclaimed architectural firm Foster + Partners was held on Thursday, November 20, at the Olympion cinema.

More than 400 guests honored the event with their presence, among them government officials, representatives of local authorities, city institutions, as well as members of the business community and the press. The event was moderated by Kathimerini journalist Ms. Iliana Magra, while addresses were delivered by the Minister of Culture, Ms. Lina Mendoni, His Eminence, the Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Varnavas, the Deputy Regional Governor of the Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki, Mr. Kostas Gioutikas, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Stelios Aggeloudis and the CEO of the DIMAND Group, Mr. Dimitris Andriopoulos.

The speakers’ remarks gave the event a strongly developmental and symbolic tone, highlighting the vision for the radical transformation of Thessaloniki’s western gateway. With substantive comments and high expectations, they described FIX as a project that aspires to upgrade daily life, strengthen the local economy, and reposition the area on the map of modern urban centers. It is not merely another urban redevelopment, but a promise of renewal for the whole of Western Thessaloniki. The audience had the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the FIX complex’s historical background, its industrial trajectory over time, and the role it played in shaping the city’s economic and social life.

At the same time, attendees were informed about the overall vision for the area’s redevelopment through a detailed presentation of the masterplan, which highlighted the new uses the project will include—from residential and hospitality spaces to areas for culture, green spaces, and modern business activity—as well as the philosophy guiding the design: the connection of historical identity with an outward-looking and sustainable future.
