Reaching the top of Piraeus Tower for the third consecutive year!

On Wednesday, September 23, the PIRAEUS TOWER RUN TO THE TOP returned for its third consecutive year, with participants climbing the nearly 500 steps of Piraeus Tower, from the ground floor all the way to the top.

The event, organized by PIRAEUS TOWER S.A. in collaboration with marathon champion Nikos Polias and My Race, offers everyone the opportunity each year to discover Piraeus Tower through a unique sporting experience. Representatives of the Municipality and the PIRAEUS TOWER consortium, building tenants, partners, residents of Piraeus, and members of the press take on the challenge of the climb, all sharing the same destination: the top.

At the same time, a competition held on Piraeus Tower’s Instagram account offers the wider public the opportunity to take part. This year, 10 winners were selected to participate in the event. Among them was Stelios Petratos, who recorded the fastest time of this year’s event, completing the climb in just 3 minutes and 6 seconds.

A regular participant in RUN TO THE TOP is also Nikos Tsatsaklas, a visually impaired marathon runner, who, together with his guide, Georgia Lampropoulou, completed the climb of Piraeus Tower’s 492 steps and subsequently descended the tower, sending a powerful message of inclusion and equal participation in sports once again this year.

Maria Toutoudaki, Head of Marketing & Communications at DIMAND, speaking on behalf of PIRAEUS TOWER S.A., stated:

“This is the third consecutive year that we have organized Piraeus Tower Run to the Top, and we are particularly pleased to see the growing response to this initiative. The revitalization of Piraeus Tower has breathed new life into a building that serves as a landmark for the city. The idea was conceived by DIMAND CEO Dimitris Andriopoulos and, with the contribution of Nikos Polias, evolved into an event that has now become an institution. By climbing the 492 steps alongside the participants, we share in their effort and excitement as they reach the top. Our goal is for Run to the Top to continue to grow, giving even more people the opportunity to experience it.”

Nikos Polias, marathon champion and founder of My Race, stated:

“It is the effort it takes to reach the top that ultimately matters, and the third Piraeus Tower Run to the Top, which is evolving into an established annual event, embodies precisely this idea. It is a unique experience that Piraeus Tower offers to the dozens of participants who take on the challenge of climbing to its summit. We are delighted that, once again this year, everything ran smoothly and that this iconic building in the city’s great port safely hosted their efforts.”

See you in 2027 for the 4th Piraeus Tower Run to the Top, with even more participants and surprises in store!
